MGR Appraisals was formed by a management buyout of the Birmingham office of a national practice in December 2009. Based in St Pauls Square, Birmingham, the company has quickly grown. Over the years, we have developed longstanding relationships with key professional services and businesses across the West Midlands and the UK and worked with a breadth of businesses on different valuation and asset disposal requirements.

Directors Richard Mascall and James Gregory have collectively over 50 years experience as chartered surveyors, valuers and auctioneers and have worked on numerous large and small scale projects.

We are extremely proud that within our first year, MGR Appraisals won the 2010 Valuation firm of the Year award promoted by Finance Monthly magazine. This first year also saw us instructed by FL Partners to value and assist them to acquire a £25m stake in Sunseeker International, a luxury motor yacht company. MGR Appraisals was retained as valuation/auditor up until the sale of the business in June 2013 to Dalian Wanda.

In 2015 MGR Appraisals was shortlisted in the Insolvency Awards in the category of small insolvency valuer and auctioneer of the year. In June 2016 MGR Appraisals acquired premises in the vibrant area of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham at 50 – 54 St. Pauls Square, Birmingham where it now operates from.

Accreditations and Compliance

MGR Appraisals are regulated by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). All valuations undertaken are in accordance with the RICS Red Book and are undertaken by RICS registered valuers. This not only provides comfort that the advice given is accurate but also gives our clients assurance that when assets are sold on their behalf that monies are banked in a client account in accordance with RICS regulations. We are also associate members of R3 – The Association of Business Recovery Professionals and work closely with key professional services organisations to keep on top of market trends that can impact the overall business market place.
